a ‘tour’ of the building

The Hive is accessed from the Poplar Way side of the building. There is an ADA-compliant ramp as well as steps.
There is an ADA-compliant restroom accessed from the entry room.
(The entry is shared with the tenant of the upstairs apartment.)


Lobby

Adjacent to the entry, this room has several upholstered chairs and a coat hook alcove.
The Catering Kitchen, Green Room, and Meeting Room are accessed from this space.

Catering kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, sink, and full-size refrigerator with a small freezer. It has sufficient counter space for trays of food or several pizza boxes.

We do not provide cutlery or dishes, so anything that your event may need need to be brought in. We have several menus for local restaurants that cater or would deliver food to the location for your event.


Green room

Off of the lobby there is a three-season room with 2 walls of windows, a table with 4 chairs. This room is nice for a small meeting of about 4-6 people. This room is often used for a buffet-style food display.


parlor

At the westmost side of the Hive is the Parlor. This room has a projection screen, conference table, and chairs for up to 10 people. There is room for other tables and chairs.
This room has glass French doors, which provides for a more intimate setting.


Meeting room

Located between the Lobby and the Parlor, this room has space for 4 tables seating up to 6 people each. It has been used for dinners, meetings (chairs in rows without tables), art exhibits, and small weddings.


Private yard

The Hive has a yard on the north side of the building, enclosed by a tall privacy fence. It can be accessed from the Green Room (steps) and the parking lot.


What we provide

We provide 4 moveable rectangular 30” x 60” tables in the Meeting Room, 36 chairs and one high chair. We have a few additional tables that can be used for serving. We have 4 pale yellow tablecloths. Furniture can rearranged to suit your needs.

We have a projection screen, a TV/monitor, dry erase boards, air conditioning and Wi-Fi.

There is a private parking accessed from the alley east of the building that has 12 spaces. There is limited street parking on Poplar Way, and additional parking in a lot adjacent to the norths side of The Hive.

What we ask

Renters are welcome to use temporary decorations that do not damage surfaces, and are removed by the renter. (Masking tape and painter’s tape is recommended.)
Decorations that can litter the building or premises are not acceptable — such as confetti and glitter.
